ScottishJay
Hi there, Im new to the forum since getting my 2012 2.2 Mondeo Titanium x sport estate I usually do my servicing my self on my cars however Its due for its first MOT this month and with its three years being up i wanted to take it to a Ford Garage to have it serviced so if it needs any warranty work it can be tackled to. I'm sure I read somewhere that when ford do the servicing they can also check for any ECU updates... Does anyone know if this is the case And if there has been any recent updates for it ( I've only had it for 8months and don't know what was done on its last servicing) Also can any one recommend a good independent Ford garage in the Glasgow area thats not Arnold Shark?. MONDEO TXS 2.2
I'm not sure that there have been any E.C.U. updates since 2012, but when you take the car in , just ask, although they may be chargeable !
ScottishJay
I thought that any updates would be covered on the warranty?... Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
iantt
Nope, not unless it to fix a particular concern reported by the customer normally.
MONDEO TXS 2.2
The 2.2 P.S.A. can be a bit sluggish in 2nd gear, a remap cured that for me.
ScottishJay
Thanks guys, just went to my local garage for a service (using ford parts on this occasion for warranty purposes) and got them to give it a good look over, and as expected everything was fine... Ive always been worried about getting it chipped as I usually keep my cars for at least 5years, whats peoples experiences of how it effects the car in the long run? MONDEO TXS 2.2
Bluefin remap has been very beneficial on mine.
jeebowhite
they are worth doing, and when they are done well, they improve the car handling and economy and just make it a lot more fun to play with.
