Found This Mess..!

Featured Replies

Am i right in thinking this is the offside (driverside) drive shaft? I found this mess at the weekend and i'm guessing it's linked or at least the cause of my bad vibrations at 50+ (i've tried balancing and tracking). If i'm on the wrong path, does anyone have an idea what it is i'm looking at? Cheers!

No its not that's the steering rack, looks like you have an engine or gearbox oil leak and its leaked on to the steering rack.

I wouldn't have thought this was causing your balance problems.

Oh, well that's 'good' news then i guess!

It's recently had a new clutch and flywheel, so i wonder if that's why it looks like it has an oil leak as it wasn't fresh and was VERY sludgy? I cleaned it up yesterday, so will keep an eye on it and see if any fresh oil appears!

could well be, just keep an eye on it. :)
