Rocco
Chaps I finally bit the bullet and bought a recon gearbox to swap out my one that's missing 5th gear. So, being as the old one has got to come off, it's a good idea to change the clutch and CSC too. I've been searching for the parts but have a problem with the part code I need. I want a Sachs (not LUK) kit which after reading a few forums posts seems the better quality part. There are two Sachs part codes though and both seem to be for only the clutch and cover plate without the CSC: 3000 951 866 & 3000 970 003 My car is the MK4 2.0 TDCI 140HP model and qualifies for both part numbers. Does anyone know what the difference between these two items is?
Italiot
I changed mine with luk parts two options was 2 piece or 3 piece I went with the piece as it's better to change all parts at once Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
Rocco
This morning I thought the same and bought the Sachs package 2290 601 020 which contains DMF, pressure plate, disc and CSC. Brand new on amazon for 231 sheets including delivery. Result.
Meercat
I have just had mine done at 145k ,replaced like for like using LUK but also had slave cylinder replaced and crankshaft oil seal. Reason for change was my dual mass started to play up which I thought at that mileage was no shame to it
Rocco
Didn't think about changing the crankshaft oil seal. Probably worth me doing that as well then. .. but also had slave cylinder replaced and crankshaft oil seal.
Meercat
Shrewd move, I looked upon it as preventive medicine for the cost of the seal probably save £100's, starter motor and bell housing cleaned as well, must admit after the job was done it was like night and day
Rocco
What engine do you have Meercat? I've done a search for a crankshaft oil seal on mine but found nothing for the 2.0 TDCI (QXBA). I'll check it out in the Haynes manual later. We're not talking about the one behind the crankshaft pulley are we?
Meercat
Same as yours 2.0 litre tdci, cost is £7.45, I will dig out the receipts for the part number
