Outside Temp Sensor

I have a red light on dash, it's the outside temp but it also reads --- on display as it's missing lol. I found 2 wires hanging down at front of car and guessing they are outside temp sensor. Can not for the life of me find where the sensor should be ?? I've looked at pics online an still can't find its location. At some point the car has had the bumper under tray ripped off, could the sensor have been attached to that ??

    Yep , should hwve been on under tray and connecter normally clipped in by one of the subframe mounting bolts, o/s/f I think
