1.6 tdci - zetec climate or ghia?

Featured Replies

Hi again

Having decided to go for a 1.6 tdci, Mk 6, probably looking at 06 to 57 plate, I have been looking everywhere on net to try and see what is a real difference if any between the zetec climate and the ghia.

Does anybody know or have a preference. I had heard that the zetec is a slightly firmer ride, but is more responsive on steering than ghia.

Is there a noticeable difference?

thanks

Kim

Not sure about the ride and sterring, but the cosmetic differences are

No rear spoiler on the ghia

different ghia wheels

Ghia extras

leather trim

leather gear knob

auto headlights

auto wipers

power fold mirrors

alarm

remote control radio

scuff plates

map lights.

Check out my list on the bottom of this post, mines a 5 door Zetec and yes is it a firmer ride and great cornering but I do have factory fit 16" wheels instead od the standard 15's I also have leather gear knob and leather/aluminium steering wheel(i beleive the leather interior on the Ghia is a no cost extra,so some have cloth, some have leather)

Standard fit was half leather, the full leather was an extra.(based on 6.5,I dont have details for 6.0)

Get a Zetec that has the Ghia extras (fold-in mirrors etc).

I have got a Fiesta Zetec Climate 16.tdci, which I bought with the Sport pack and the electronics pack, which means it has got everything such as electric heated and folding mirrors, heated front screen, auto headlights, auto wipers. The only thing it doesnt have is leather interior which I wasn;t to bothered about as the Sport pack makes the outside look the dogs wotsits.

It handles well and is a firm but comfy ride, so I would say go for the Zetec, will add a link to the pics of mine

Do like that car of yours Trav - if only I had not ordered a new Mk 7 full loaded!

and KimL - can't you go that little bit more for a Mk 7??

Thanks Paul, yep she's my baby. I would have a Mk7 but they are a bit too expensive for me at the moment, I bought this one when I was working and now I am going to uni I have to save all the pennies.

Oh once you are qualified at whatever you are going to do at Uni I am sure you will be buying better cars then Fiesta's anyway Trav

Well we can all dream... my dream car is the Ferrari California B) .... maybe one day ...or not.

I'm more of a Lambourghini person . .

. . . .and back to the real world - I am sure I will be more than happy with my new car, when it finally arrives!

Yep I am sure it will be a lovely new car, I haven't driven one yet but they look superb

Paul - I would love a Mk7 - I think they look great!

If I could I would. Maybe in a few years time, or if that lottery ticket comes up trumps before then...

Hehehe - fancy a spin in mine?

Once you have picked it up I might take you up on that offer. Speaking of dream cars, got a very wealthy friend who has just bought a Ferrari F40 :o to add to his collection of Aston Martins, Ferrari's and Jag E-types. He promises to take me out in the F40 although this is yet to materialise

F40 - stunning car in its day but I bet it looks really dated now compared to the new brand of standard production hyper cars.

Yep but its an icon in terms of supercars, and therefore a priviledge to be even close to one

That's true - and you usually only see them stationary behind a barrier at motor shows or on TV and while it is not one that I would want to own, to be able to get taken out in one must be truely AWESOME!!

Sounds like someone's always wanted to the be female passenger in Outrun.
