Double Locking The Doors

Ok this is a bit random, but why do you have to double tap the fobb to lock the doors ?? You push it once and you hear it lock something and push second time, it locks something else and indicators flash ??

    The first click locks the doors, the second activates deadlocks, unless someone can correct me, the doors cannot be opened from the inside then either.

    Ah that's pretty cool. I'll give that ago 2moro with the girlfriend in the car lol. If that's the case tho, that stops the door frame being pulled away and being unlocked from the inside in the event of an attempted theft ??

    Wombilly is correct, I believe the 2nd push also arms the alarm, which is confirmed by the indicators flashing.
