Fiesta Mk6 1.4 Eac Problem!!

Featured Replies

Hi im new here so sorry if i have posted in the wrong section

I have a problem with my 1.4 zetec 2004

The EAC fail comes on dashboard after driving car for about 5 mins,

it looses power, idles poor and when i rev the car its slow and sluggish.

ive used a diagnostic tool which the code was PO642, something todo with

a open or short circuit bit ivd been told to clean the throttle body, check the accelerater

sensor and all sorts of other things but i thought id come here first for help

Anyone else had this problem with the same code?

Thanks, Connor

Check the contacts on the accelerator peddle for wear

What do you mean by contacts?, also when the car isnt in EAC fail mode and i put my foot down the car accelerates then it kinda stutters like loose of power, isnt that the throttle body sticking?

That does sound more like the throttle body yeah

Throttle body itself or could be wiring to throttle body, they are common problems on mk6

Right ive just cleaned the throttle body and i havent had a EAC fail pop up on dashboard today, but like what i said before when i accelerate the revs drops abit and when im on 2000 revs and try pulling away the cars feels like it wants to stall, could this be the spark plugs or maybe the engine isnt getting enough oxygen

Is it misfiring??
