Ford Connect Temp Problem

Hi all my problem is as follows .i have a ford connect 2008 it started with black smoke coming from exhaust so i changed glow plugs no difference had the ecu looked at,still no good found to be the turbo rubber pipe it was split so put a new one on black smoke gone.thought all my probs were over started driving to work after a few miles temp gauge went up to half way thought that was ok so switched off engine 10 mins latter had to move van but wouldnt start the more i kept starting the more it drained battery.thisv is an on going problem its ok to drive but once the temp goes up i canot start till its rested for over an hour changed thermostat .plus many other parts im baffled anybody out there can help please

Does it start if you boost the battery?

These engines need a healthy battery with good cranking power.

a slightly discharged battery can struggle to spin the engine fast enough to fire.

If it happens after a short journey then maybe it isn't getting the chance to re-charge

Have the battery load tested and make sure the alternator is giving at least 13.5volts.

Always worth a try....
