Soo as some of you may of known, I went to New York a few weeks back for my summer holiday... And made a huge mistake of getting my first credit card at the age of 22! So of I went, bought alot of nice things, and visited lots of places which all went on credit card, along with my virgin atlatic flights...

And so today!! I recieve my credit card bill!! for the small amount of

£ 3010.64

So.....

Im a little depressed now!! So any donations would be or a whip round would be nice to cheer me up!!

Im going to go relax in the sun now!

ps.. luckily its 0% for another 2 months! phew!!!

Oh dear!!!! Better count the pennies Johnny :P

:o Thats a lot! when i went to NYC back in 2004 i spent just over £600 in 3 days (flights + hotel not included) i'm just scared about spending too much on my next holiday to Las Vegas in 5 weeks time..

I went to New York back in April. Amazing city.

Scary thing though - I flew over the Hudson River in a helicopter. It was the same helicopter company that crashed into the Hudson river a few weeks ago. Glad I was four months earlier.

Your right it is an amazing city! I hope to go back in november if I can get a long weekend break from work and go do some xmas shopping. I didnt do the helicoptor thing, but lots of time spent in the hudson on a boat! And so much time and money spent in restaurants! I love my food, and that was my priority!

And bags of clothes i came back with, I went over my 35kg limit! and i only took 11 kg on my way out! woo hoo!

Had a credit card since i was 18 and never overspent like that... think before you spend =p

Ouch!!!! That could put paid to your plans for the Zetec S?

I have a credit card but rarely use it....if I do I make sure I pay it off as will go down well when I want a mortgage. :)

Ive still got my plans for the zetec s! But just delays me slightly lol Im considering sending em to go test drive it for me, and deliver it to me once its been paid for hehe!

But yes it does kinda hinder my plans for the zetec s, as now I have to pay this bill of before I think about the car!

Oh I am hopeless with credit cards too so I only have a really low limit on it (I think it is set at 500) and only use it for emergencies!

If you can afford to go to New York in the first place then I'm sure 3 grand isn't going to hurt you too much.....

I don't suppose you'll get many donations now you've said that you're going back there in November!

On a more serious note, make sure you pay off any amount outstanding as Pooh is quite right; if you default on your payments it will affect your credit rating which may not be a problem for you now but it certainly will be at a later date.

When I got the card the woman at Nationwide said to use it occasionally even for small amounts because it I show I can pay it off then i will get a mortgage with them. I know people who have been refused mortgages for being their credit card bills off one day late.
