Playing Audio From Phone

Featured Replies

I have just bough a 58 plate fiesta titanium today. I have bonded my phone with the wireless audio system, so I am able to make and receive calls etc. But I can't get it to stream music from my phone, I can't find any option to do that. How exactly do I stream music from phone to the audio system ? Tha ks for any help!

Only the "bluetooth high" modules support audio (A2DP). If you don't have USB fitted, chances are you've got a "bluetooth low" module. The module can be swapped but you'll need a willing dealer to change some parameters via IDS. I'll know for sure on the 26th if this works (I've got mine booked in).

Basically:

  • Swap module behind glovebox with 8m5t-19c112-AM or later (e.g. 112-AN, AP, etc)
  • Dealer changes
  • - Bluetooth handsfree: Select BT/VC Phone Interface + USB Connection
  • - Accessory USB Unit: Select With USB and iPod Function
  • - Update display, bluetooth and audio modules if required.

Module is pricy from Ford (£200-300), but you can use a second hand one from eBay (£50-90). If the car model it came from doesn't match your car, you might also need to dealer to change the model via IDS.

I have a usb port. I have also tried playing from the usb port, but again, unsure of where to go. When I select AUX, I just get Line In message and nothing happens.

Was the car advertised as having USB? If you stick your VIN in https://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do is USB listed?

If you press your voice control button, say "External Device" and then "Help" are AUX, iPod, USB and Bluetooth audio listed; or just AUX?

keep pressing AUX. Should give you line-in; USB; bluetooth options.

All I get is USB, Line in, and Ipod...

What about via your voice control as in my last post?

Ipod?

There used to be a specific cable for using iPod's - audio via the aux and song info via USB ( the "ford y cable").

The only options available was Line in and USB. So I take it that it does not support Bluetooth audio streaming ?

Also, I'm unable to play audio via USB from my phone. I guess it's a compatibility issue, I have a Samsung Galaxy S6.

If you follow that and check the modules part number (underneath the module) we should be able to figure out what's up. It should start with 8m5t
