Front Fog Light Fitting

Featured Replies

Hi all, have a 56 Fusion Style, & I'm wanting to fit some front fog lights. I see ford do a kit as such, Fitting the lights & new Bezels looks pretty straight forward as does replacing the switch on the dash, the only thing I'm not to sure on is the wiring loom (Ford No 1446611 Jumper wiring)

Is this a straight plug into an existing plug, or does it require cutting into the loom etc, as in the picture I can see bare wires ? See below.

Has anyone fitted one of these looms before ? Any help greatly appreciated

Many thanks & all the best Dan

Just to let anyone who might be interested in doing the same, On removing the front fog lamp blanks, you will notice that the wiring loom is already present & held to the bumper by a couple of bulb blank clips. So no need to get any extra wiring :-)

You will need to get a replacement light switch for the dash that has front fogs, this is easily changed by removing lower dash panel under the steering wheel, about 5 screws I think , be careful not to break the top lug that goes into the dash on the left of the steering wheel. Next put your hand up behind the switch & feel the retaining clips & squeeze together, the switch then comes out very easily from the front. Unplug the old & in goes the new / replacement ( I got mine off ebay £6.50 you can also use a Mk6 Fiesta switch as they are the same )

The fog lamps I also got off ebay approx £30.00 inc bulbs.

To remove front blanks gently prise out from the front I used a screw driver but if you have a plastic trim removal tool even better as less chance of damaging the bumper. That said they came out really easy though.

You will need 4 No8 spire clips & 4 No8 Flange'd self tapping screws. You can see where to fit the spire clips.

The fog lamps fit on to two lugs on the bumper, I had to break off a small plastic piece on the lamps to get them to fit flush, again easy .

Next Push on the new fog light Bezel ( I brought genuine ford ones at £42.10 for the pair, as I couldn't find any s/h ones, they seem to be scarce :-( there are pattern ones available on ebay, for about £25.00 a pair, but I don't know how well they fit.

Turned the switch on & all works fine :-)

I hope this might be of help to some one Cheers Dan.
