Bonnet Vents

Featured Replies

At the moment I'm not sure I can justify spending 100 notes on vents what with rent due next month and a baby on the way

I still need to buy and spray a whole new front bumper as it is to repair the damage to the front end

How long does nick take to fit them exactly and how long till I can drive the car again?

At the moment I'm looking at either these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Focus-RS-MK2-style-ABS-plastic-bonnet-vents-/171032733372?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item27d25866bc

Or these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-XKR-style-ABS-plastic-bonnet-vents-Gloss-black-finish-/181573761317?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2a46a3b925

I'm not sure if I'm completely sold on the XKR vents as the RS vents may look a little meaner

Contemplating getting a set of either and giving the fitting a go myself

only Nick can answer your questions mate.

i purchased my carbon effect vents from Kinetic Cars (Mark) and he is a really good friendly guy and the quality is spot on.

You would be as well getting them just now Charlie as the baby is on the way. Once your baby arrives mate you will be skint skint skint and the vents wont happen

I agree with Alan.

Once Charlie Jnr arrives you'll have your hands full of brown stuff, nappies, bottles and leaky hooters

oh, dont ever change the first ever nappy - its like tar, and it can come in varioous colours like Ford RS GREEN :o

Get it done and when baby's out, you can show of your Ford and set their world alight :D

Thought you'd be able to answer Sal as you fitted yours yourself. How long did they take you to fit and how long you leave it till driving?

I might have to sort out the rent next week first and then look at em. Dunno if its a good idea to be doing up the rest of the car though when the front bumper needa replacing. That may need to take priority

Charlie, i did mine on a Saturday and had the wifes car to drive all weekend as she was away.

I think if you leave them on for a few hours for the sealant to set you'll be fine. You can always tape them down using masking tape for 24 hours.

How bads your bumper?

Are you gonna replace it or repair it?

Nothing on ebay thats any good to you?

This is the bumper damage. Due to where the damage is and being split straight through it wont be possible to repair.

Didn't you see my thread at the time?

Been looking at ebay, at the moment the only options are to buy a used bumper currently on there for 150 and have it touched up and resprayed, buy an aftermarket new bumper for 80quid and have it sprayed, or there are some sellers offering a service where they provide an aftermarket bumper ready sprayed for 230quid

hi Charlie

I do remember posting on your thread but couldn't remember how much damage there was.

just be patient and hopefully one will turn up

Neither any good dude.

1st link is for a facelift mk4.5

Second link is right year but I need a bumper with the parking sensor and washer jet holes which makes my search harder

Good mate of mine does mobile fitting service for RS bonnet vents into ST's, and other cars too. I would estimate he's done hundreds of the things, so lots of happy customers out there. He's based in Doncaster but travels all over the place on weekends, Nick aka RSParts

Can get prices if you want?

How do i get in touch. I live in Doncaster? And iam considering vents after some other jobs iv gotta do

Think Nick does most of his business via facebook

failing that let me know and I’ll drop him a text
