Hi all I have a tataniumx with stop start.I only do short distances so I am taking more out of the battery than putting in.Can somebody tell me a good trickle charger as I thought if I put it on charge overnight it would keep the battery charged up.I think it is a special battery but not sure

    I think the models with start stop use an AGM battery. The start stop system will not operate if the ECU detects the battery voltage is getting low - this means the engine will continue to run in order to charge the battery.

    If you do want a good charger, I would highly recommend a CTEK charger - I have 2 of them and cannot speak highly enough of them.

    I have the CTEK MXS 0.8 to keep my bike battery in top shape (gets plugged in after every use and can be left on forever - although usually up to 6 months in my case) and also the CTEK MXS 5.0 which can also be left on forever but it can charge and recondition all types of lead acid and AGM batteries from 1.2-110Ah.

    CTEK use what is called a comfort lead/connecter where you can leave it permanently connected to the battery for convenience or you can just use the crocodile clips. At £60 for an MXS5.0 its very good value in my opinion.
