Diesel Sticker on a Petrol car

Featured Replies

Hi

My fiesta is a 1.25 petrol. Just noticed the other day it has a diesel sticker on the inside of the filling cap. My local garage fills your car for you, no wonder she kept coming to check if it was actually diesel instead of unleaded that i orginally asked for.

Any one else experienced this?

Jamie

She wouldnt be able to get a diesel nossle into it anyway, think you should peel it off to stop any confusion. How do you like your car? is it quite nippy for a 1.2, I only ask this as one of my daughters friends is looking to buy a new fiesta in Oct and he has only just passed his test, we were discussing the 1.2 and he said he wanted something faster.

Hi

Yea good feature that, lucky they wernt showing inititive by just putting diesel in!! An older car would be in trouble!

Well my first ever car was a 1.8 W reg focus, this is my second car so in terms of top speeds its not as fast. However I test drove the 1.4 and the 1.25 and couldnt tell that much difference. In my opinion the 1.25 was smoother and just as torquey. Its pretty nippy in 3rd when u need to overtake, no problems there. However as 19 year old I will be looking into things to a get a few more horses out of it!!

There are two options for the 1.25, one with 82 bhp and one with 94 bhp, round about those figures. i have the bigger one. Like a few other people a 6th gear would be nice, sits at 3 - 4 thousand revs on motorway, which annoys me, just means radio has to work harder!

Freaked me out when i first came to fill it up myself, being used to my garage filling it haha. Had to get the handbook out to double check. Did think it was a pretty quiet diesel!!

I like the fact you have a petrol station where they fill your car up for you, must live in a lovely rural part of the country?

Enjoy pimping your car - I did mine a few months back - have had nothing but trouble lol x

Think you got your stats messed up a lil there, the 1.25 will not have 94bhp (96PS), thats the 1.4 engine. The 1.25 comes in 62PS and 82PS - which is around 60BHP and 80BHP

Michelle - mine is perfectly nippy and has brilliant accelaration :) Tell Dan's friend to get a Fiesta :D

I havn't driven a Mk7 1.25 but two of my friends have the Mk6 1.25 and its nippy enough :)
