Best Rpm To Change To Keep The Boost Always There 1.0 Ecoboost 140ps

Featured Replies

So I've had my black edition for over a month now and even though it's better than my old zetec s it still feel the turbo comes and goes too quick and after a change up the turbo is still spooling for a second or three after my foot is planted to the floor, is this normal ?

Its not the turbo that is the problem its the mapping of the engine.

If you datalog your car whilst driving you will see that the turbo is making positive pressure from about 1500 Rpm upwards the only time I see no boost on mine is when I am on the motorway cruising with light throttle but as soon as I put my foot down the boost it there.

thanks mate least its not my turbo knackered, i was thinking of getting a remap on it from pumaspeed will that help with the issue? other than that i love this car the gearing was too long in my zetec s felt like i was in one gear for ages when hooning it

If you fancy doing some data logging get one of these

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DY3EZSI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

And download the Torque App from the google play store ( Android) I think it could be on the Apple store also.

Sound ordered that thanks! part from that it does shift for a 1.0 litre!

I just boot my Black changing up at 4krpm minimum and there's always boost! But for normal driving 2krpm should see you getting boost quickly. 6,000 miles in mine now and its loosening nicely.

From 5 to 6 rpm I'm sure there is an overboost too, I usually shift up at 3 to 4 meself it wants to rev high this engine

Uhuh... Hits rev limiter real quick lol!

Only shame is it don't do 0-60 in under 9 from the stats because of the shorter gear ratio

Splitting hairs really. For what it is its quick enough, cheap to insure & tax with decent economy.

I find i have to hit ~2500 from 1st to 2nd. If it drops below ~1500 in 2nd i think i'm back in my A35 van ;)

Gordon Bennet, mine has only done ~4500rpm max and only for maybe a total of 5 secs :D

What's really annoying is when you start loosing power to find out its at 6500 RPM ;)

The overboost is from 5k to 6k I think

I'm sure it's at full throttle but limited to a spacific time (20 seconds) to stop over heating.

Someone will come along with a definitive answer shortly.

Can you get a short shifter for these

How long do you intend keeping the car, Willy? LOL

2 years :p

I must make a note, do not buy Willy's car :D
