Best Rpm To Change To Keep The Boost Always There 1.0 Ecoboost 140ps

Are they both new cars? it might be the car bedding in and a temporary thing. It's just we did 1000 miles to and around Cornwall and back shifted up at up to 5000rpm at times really pushing the car at times and have never felt any vibrations.

My partner had a 1992 clio that would shake so hard if you tried to go over 75mph that you'd hear bolts fall off from time to time, the gear sticks head would shake off and the exhaust finally fell off after so many bolts fell off, scary car.

Yeah mines brand new it's done 1800, hope it's just the bedding in stage like but if it persists I will take it back to Ford and get then to check it out

Need to keep reminding that it is 3 cyls and some vibration will be quite normal despite the damping effects of crank pulley and flywheel,

What you will notice overtime is better performance with extra miles on engine.

Thanks for the reply, Ian. I was hoping that it was something along the lines of what you wrote. Also keeping in mind that Ford didn't use premium parts for the engine/drivetrain. Even though mine costs just under 21,000 quid here in DK, it is still a budget car.

Mine's also brand new, 1690 miles on it.

My focus on 38000 miles and much better than brand new ones

Cars do get better with time and although inevitably things start to wear and will degrade with time, maintaining your car will make sure that's not for a good 100,000 to 200,000 miles

Mines best with only 1/4 of a tank of fuel in it :D :D

yeah my car never has a full tank always 1/2 or 1/4 tank living in liverpool be a silly idea to fully top up get robbed and the !Removed! got like 380 miles of fun haha, going down south next week good 5 hour drive so be nice to see how it goes

It's hard to remember they are just 1litre and 3 cylinder. It's a tiny turbo and lag is hardly an issue. I want another. Or I could really go for a new re-designed KA with the 140 motor... I wonder if Ford would....?

The "new" KA is going to be built in India - I think an un-turboed 3 cyl is about the best it will get.

Which if true is a massive mistake IMO

Ecosport made in mexico and that's bad enough.

Already being built in Brazil:

Ford launched the Ka in Brazil with a 1.0-liter three-cylinder flex-fuel engine

which is capable of developing 83.8 bhp and 107 Nm of torque paired to a

5-speed manual transmission.

Indian production of the car will take place at Ford’s upcoming plant in Sanand, Gujarat,

When I'm driving to save fuel I shift around 2-2.5 rpm but other than that I normally shift around 3-4, I have recently Bluefin superchiped it and If im going to be honest.. I would highly recommend it, it feels like a complete new car and the torque increase is insane not to mention the speed! Best £333 spend on my car so far 👌, Doesn't feel to far off an ST standard.

The overboost comes on when you're at full throttle for a preset amount of time. In the ST it's 15 secs. Even a slight reduction in throttle will reset this timer as will changing gear so it is unlikely to be much of a restriction in real world conditions.
