i had a 1.25 fiesta 2012 few years ago and i was getting around the same as i am not in this and its way faster! still though get left behind by my mates cooper s

Remap it ;)

Do it!!! :D you'll be getting under 9 secs on a gentle stroll :P

Is the gear box different to the 100 - 125 veraions? As you mentioned holding gears don't seem to last as long as your old car but they feel like they last forever to me, I have to go to 4th at 73mph in my (6 speed) Giulietta where I only really need to change to 3rd at 75 in the fiesta lol.

100 and 125 are the same. The 140 has shorter gears.

There's other subtle changes to the Red and Black motors.

I love tha fact when u put your foot down from 70mph in 5th takes off way faster than me old 125 zetec s

It's hard to remember they are just 1litre and 3 cylinder. It's a tiny turbo and lag is hardly an issue. I want another. Or I could really go for a new re-designed KA with the 140 motor... I wonder if Ford would....?

I know it's fantastic engine! My girlfriend has the 100 titanium and that's shifts as well, a ka would fly with a ecoboost, I want the new focus next with the 1.6 ecoboost 180 bhp

Is the 1.6 a 3 cylinder? If it is that gawjus 3 pot noise won't be there.

The soundtrack of the Ecoboost is a top characteristic.

Think it's a 4 mate, yeah makes such a nice noise! That ka looks smart as kinda same shape as the Adam

I love the engine noise sounds amazing for such a small engine between 4000-6000.

Does anyone use shell v power fuel?

I do, about every third tank.

Is it any smoother when driving ....never used it but my mates always puts it in his focus st

Doesn't feel particularly smoother and it makes no diff to my mpg. I prolly imagine it but the engine feels as though it prefers to burn v power rather than the supermarket stuff. It kinda feels as if it accelerates more cleanly, almost as if it gets choked with the cheap stuff. As I say, I prolly imagine it :)

When I got mine mountune'd I asked about what fuel to use. They said Momentum is recomended but any fuel is fine.

yeah got a shell 2 mins from my house i just use the normal fuel from there always have, just wondering if it would of been better for the engine will probably give it a whurl when i next fuel up

Some say waste of money, some say not, give it a try, im in the waste of money camp myself, cheap tesco in mine, runs fine.

Get that remap!

it's one of the best thing's I've done to mine... not forgetting the custom exhaust too, plus the K&N filter - every little helps! ;)

Does anyone use shell v power fuel?

I do although I don't know for how long with the fiesta, the 99ron v-power petrol doesn't seem to make as much difference as the v-power diesel does over the Tesco standard 95ron fuels I've used.

The diesel runs much quieter, warms up much quicker during winter and it definitely runs much smoother for the first 10 mins when using v-power diesel and you actually get more power/pull out of the Alfa engine once warmed. The v-power petrol I've not felt as much difference really, but I also know with engines nowadays it can sometimes take 2 consecutive shell top ups after long term standard fuel use before the ECU decides the fuel is good enough quality to allow the engine to work at max capacity, so I'm hoping it improves as I've just topped up with my second consecutive v-power fuel.

It definitely does something in the way of improvements and will certainly maintain/lubricate the engine components for longer running no doubt so that might just be worth the price alone.

okay so i had an hous drive up the motorway to oldham today, great on motorway only thing revs felt quite high cruising about 75/80, once i was off and onto normal roads when i was changing from 1st to 2nd as the clutch re-engages it felt like the pedal is vibrating (enough for me to feel it with trainers on) dont know if am being paranoid anyone experienced this ?

Have the same car and have also felt vibrations in the clutch pedal, but also in the gear stick. Sometimes the clutch pedal, as well as the stick feel like there is more resistance. Other times they're smooth as butter. I was worried when I first got the car, since I haven't experienced this in my previous car (Fiat Punto 2014), but everything works fine and there is no grinding.

I've been trying to figure out when I can feel the vibrations and the resistance and it seems that if you shift as soon as the shift arrow appears - around 2000 rpm, everything is smooth. As soon as you rev higher, 3000+ rpm, the vibrations and the resistance can be felt. I'm thinking that it's simply the torque that can be felt throughout the whole drivetrain. Maybe too much torque for this car? Which is why I don't think the various remaps that bring the HP above 140 and torque above 210 NM are a good idea - don't believe the various parts of the engine can take that amount of power without getting damaged after a certain amount of time.

Have you had some of the same experiences with vibrations and resistance, Dean? Nice name you have there. ;)

My first post here BTW. :D Drive a Black Edition, only around 1600 miles on it. Great car, a bit pricey here in Denmark.
