I would say the little expense of parts for both would be a worthwhile investment personally. I suppose the labour costs would be the deciding factor.

I can replace both of the parts myself as they're just done by removing the radio, screws and unplugging the old ones etc.

I think I will give it a whirl. Thanks again for your support.

OK, don't laugh, but one of the removal keys has snapped in the radio :o(

See the attached image for what I mean. Do you have any ideas on how I can get the key out, or remove the radio another way?

I need to get the radio out to remove the piece of dashboard, so I can replace the heater control.

Hmm that's a bad one. You can try getting a magnet and enticing it out and you may also need a tweezer to pull it out...

I've felt around the back of the stereo, and there is a clip or screw at the same point as the pin which is jammed.

Would it be worth bending/snapping that one pin off so I can get the radio out and replace the fan switches?

Without getting the radio out, I am unable to swap out the part and see what the issue is.

You could probably try but how much of a grip it holds is anyone's guess.

Hello I am a new, if old member, not very computer savvy, however I have a problem with my 2011 ford fiesta, cigar lighter suddenly packed up so no sat nav, RAC checked all fuses and have told me to contact main dealer and mention B10 U 3000 control module B10EA and U0193 no communication, help anyone please !!!

Hi Brian, I am not a mechanic y any means, but could it be that the cigarette lighter has broken in some way, and you have to replace the component? Do you have a second cigarette lighter point in the car?
