I used to use it with my Alfa 147 JTD. I certainly saw some difference. A little increase in MPG, a smoother punch in acceleration (Psychological?) and a reduction in the plumes of black smoke under hard acceleration . I used to have problems with the EGR Valve and used this to try and help clean the jets etc. A couple of caps per tank was enough.

They do say Preminum fuel contains the same kind of additive. The question you have to ask, is which is the cheapest option?

It's two stroke oil with a shot of paraffin in it. You can make it up yourself for about 3% of the cost!

Thanks for the replies guys I think at 13 quid a bottle I’ll give it a miss and try a tank of the premium fuel first.

Shell or BP or have they both got it?

use power sport all the time and you can get it for under a tenner a bottle.

Try the "FORTE" brand, at £7.50p + VaT, per tank-fill, every 3 months. They do it for diesel, and for petrol, no change in octane or cetane number, but well reputed in the trade. Don't go for the MoT, until it has cleared out the system, and your fuel is fresh.

BP Vmax, and Shell Optimax, come highly recommended for general use, but I have to avoid Super unleaded with my Mk 6.5 1.25, as the ECU cannot take it, and unburnt fuel will coat the lambda probe, with unpleasant and costly results.

Or (and ONLY if it's a Diesel) shoot 15mls of 2Stroke oil into a full tank.

Cost? About £0.11 a tank.

Sound interesting chris you also said paraffin in an earlier post, how much of that to use?

By the way i've found some Millers on ebay for £7.00 a bottle i'm tempted to give it a try

Well I’ve just filled up with Shell V-power diesel, 7p a litre extra meaning it cost me £2.60 a tank more than regular diesel.

Let’s hope I feel a difference I’m going on a long run tomorrow so I hope to notice something once the regular stuff has worked through.

Hmmmm, maybe about 3ml paraffin to every 15ml 2/

BUT

it's more a detergent than anything else, so in a new car I wouldn't bother with that.

Just one thing, if you DO go the 2/ route - please report back here on how it goes?

I'm currently running some figures and tests using 2/ and also without. Ta!

Hi Chris,

Will do on the 2/, at the moment I have managed to get some Millers for £9 inc p&p.

I also filled the car with Shell V-Power on Friday and travelled about 180m miles this weekend I didn't notice any difference the first 30 miles but after a short stop, I restarted my trip and started to notice the car was more responsive and more willing.

It cost me an extra £2.60 a tank to fill up, no change in MPG although I was a little right foot heavy due to the car feeling more responsive.

I don’t think I’ll be spending the extra as there are cheaper alternatives like 2/ and Millers to try out.

Litre of Millers under £10. A litre treats 10 full tanks of fuel. Thats less that a quid a tank. I've tried both V-power diesel and Millers and I've seen proven improvements on Millers (1 MOT on V-power and it nearly failed on emissions and last MOT on Millers and negligable emissions). On all counts I'd use Millers every time.

Thanks SY99, is the standard bottle a 1 litre or are there different sizes? i bought mine off an auction site, they did not give bottle size.

I've only ever seen 500ml bottles. Mine needs 50ml/52 litre tank (1ml/litre of fuel if you like) so this bottle does for 10 tank fills from flat empty to brimming.
