Hi guys

Been having a problem with my battery being flat in the morning. Last 2 nights iv disconnected the battery then reconnected it in the morning n its started fine so I'm pretty sure the battery and alternator are good. Iv found videos on you tube on how to check for a power drain on the battery but when I use a multi meter to measure the voltage going from battery by taking the positive off the battery and putting the meter between battery and positive cable I get around 12.7. Surely I'm doing something wrong to get that reading? I haven't changed anything or done any maintenance on the van apart from pulling the interior lights out to see why they aren't working then giving up but I don't know if this could cause the battery to go dead.

Any help much apriciated
