Water Leakage

Featured Replies

hi all, ive just joined this group in the hope that someone would be able to help me resolve a problem that ive recently discovered with my 59 plate mondeo 2L cdti. it seems that i have standing water in the drivers side footwells (front and rear) with no obvious sign of entry. i had a similar problem a year ago when the rear door wouldn't lock via the central locking system, but seemed to rectify itself when the door was repaired.

i am in no way mechanically minded and would appreciate any responses.

many thanks

rob

Hi welcome :)

post it in Mondeo forum some one will help

Not sure about the cause - but try sitting in the car & get someone to hose the car down & see if you can see where the water comes in

:) good thinking

...you can also do that with a car wash, although with that approach you are a bit more committed for a period and that may be a problem if it is a big leak.

If I was to bet, I'd bet that the repaired door wasn't well repaired and the membrane has a leak. (One door or both doors.)

thanks for your replies men. ive done the hose pipe thing and got no joy and the last time it happened it went through a carwash and got the same result. both doors and seals are bone dry, and even the carpet up the sides towards the doors are dry, but there's standing water in the footwells.

Daft question maybe, but do you have a sunroof? If you do, then it could be a blocked drain pipe????

  • 11 months later...

No sunroof. I'm now bald due to hair pulling!
