A reliable source told us the ship was last seen sailing round Cape Horn...meaning he will probably arrive just in time for the next scrappage deal. ;)

Seriously, it should take around a week to reach Southampton (of all places). sit in a pound for God knows how long and be at the dealers around the 25th of this month.

The car carrier "Grande portogallo",which seems to be the main carrier from spain to Uk docked in Bristol last night,perhaps your cars at Bristol docks now,rather than southampton.

I have no idea mate. It can come via John O'Groats for all I care....just as long as he gets here soon. I am soooooooooooo envious of all these peeps with their new fez and I'm pooting around in a 13 year old Astra!!! Humph!!

There are 3 distribution hubs from which the cars are sent to the dealers,Dagenham,Speke(Liverpool) and one in scotland (livingston?),from these points the cars are transported onto the dealers by road.

To get to the hubs ,double deck rail carriers are used,these travel from southampton and bristol,to the various hubs,

The Speke one,with which I am familiar holds 4-5000 cars,but currently only has about 1000 cars due to stock demands.

Cars for southern dealers go to Dagenham,the midlands and north come via speke and the scottish depot supplies dealers north of the border.

If you are near the channel tunnel and see Ford branded trains going through,these are taking engines from Bridgend and Dagenham,to spain and germany.

I didn't think people from Southampton & Portmounth liked each other? When I worked down there, they had special names for each other.

My apologies - I normally know how to spell the word 'skull', (as in Skully) ... it just came out wrong! :) Not sure if I was thinking about Gillian Anderson, or Steph Scully from 'Neighbours'! I'm married to a redhead rock-chick btw, so I know to tread carefully!
