Fiesta Zetec S MK7 'RED LIGHT'

Featured Replies

Noticed today pulling away from the pumps, a red flasing light in the centre of the display panel - between the speedo and revs?

Last time it happened the car cut out.. so a stopped and restarted before it could cut out again.

Other then this the car runs fine.

Uh, as far as I know, that flashing light is for the alarm when the car is locked?

Oh dear something else ive not noticed before......

Saying that though if its to do with the alarm, could it be your immobiliser is playing up hence the cutting out?

I'm pretty sure the red light is for the immobiliser. It says in the manual. Mine only flashes once I've switched off the ignition.

Agree it is the immobiliser light, happened to me twice in 5 months, got the normal dealer reaction when i spoke to them "can sort it if it is happening when you bring it in", both times it corrected itself within a couple of minutes.

Oh ok, If its only an immobiliser light i'l keep a watch out for it to see how it behaves.

But it wasn't a single flash i had come up, it was flashing..

It might just need more time before pulling off.

Look at this for you this morning, my immobiliser light goes out as soon as I start the car, it dont flash either its just stays on until it extinguishes.

EDIT,

checked again and it does flash, when the car is switched off but as soon as its started the light goes off instantly.

don't panic its normal.hows the car michelle
