We re advertised on zoopla and s1 homes atm. I'm off to have a 'chat' with them tomorrow and see how they are going to help. Just wondering also, as we're new to buying used homes so to speak, is it ever done when buying a house of offering to pay a deposit so the house is removed from the open market until completion of sale of ours? I know maybe not for most, but the house we want is empty and the seller isn't in need of the money quickly apparently. Only ask as a note of interest has been made on the property we wish to buy

I'm a bit rusty, but I'm sure it could be written into your memorandum of sale (offer) to pay a £xx deposit with the understanding that the property will be taken off the market and not sold to any other parties. I'd be more inclined though to just put an offer in and make sure the buyer knows that you are serious and ask if he or she would consider either marking it as SSTC or removing it from advertising platforms and declining viewing requests etc...

^ The thing is, with the property market being so competitive I doubt anyone would be willing to take their house off the market until the sale is completed. Anyone asking for this is basically telling you that they don't have the money right now and don't know when they'll have it. You're in competition with other buyers, and whoever comes up with the money first gets the house.

Well my solicitor said its not done, so didn't offer to ask, So looks like its a case now of waiting to see if it goes under offer now. We have again lowered the asking price to try to encourage more views, so hopefully it will as its all beginning to stress me out now 😒

Repeatedly lowering the price isn't the answer, but I wish you the best of luck. They still haven't bothered to update the price on the PDF brochure though.

Other than lowering the price to try get more people to come and view the house there isn't anything else we can do. There's a note of interest and a a looming second viewing which I fear will lead to an offer. As we cant do anything as ours isn't sold lowering the price was the only option to try encourage more buyers 😡
