I'm James, 24, live in Norwich. I've just bought a new Ford Focus RS, which should be arriving in March (Fingers Crossed)

Bit of background. I'm a Mercedes-Benz Salesman, coming out of the company car scheme. Always had hot hatches and didn't feel I got the benefit of the scheme at work, as I only live 2 miles away. Love owning my own car, love speed and love a manual gearbox!

Been an active forum member with my Mini Cooper S, Peugeot 208 GTI and with Mercedes-Benz. Hopefully will be able to get into the Ford scene!

Only 5 months to wait......

Spec wise, I've gone for the Magnetic Grey (My colleague has bought the same, but in the Nitrous blue)

Standard RS Recaro Seat. They seem comfy and I'm not too bothered about full buckets. My 91 year old grandmother still needs the odd lift!

I like it (obviously) It just looks more aggressive. You can see that it's functional design too

Suppose I've just become acustomed to the smooth front end of my ST.

I guess it's something I'll grow to like before I look to getting one in 2018 (probably different again by then).

I was never really taken by the shape of the standard mk3 Focus front end but the 3.5 hooked me.

Yeah, you definitely grow to love the car you drive. For me, it's important that it's significantly different to the ST, as it's a fair amount more expensive. As I said, I've never owned a Ford, so I'm hoping it will impress. I've driven them a lot and they have always impressed. My parents have a diesel focus in France and that's a great car.

Being a car salesman, I get to drive a lot of cars and a lot of them are very fast. It sound terrible, but you do get used to driving cars with big power, so it takes a lot to wow me. The issue for me with Merc is that an A45 at cost price would cost me 10k more and it's just not as involved with the auto box. Every video i've seen of the RS makes it look like an absolute riot!!!

I know that from driving my own mk3.5 ST and my works mk3 one.

The work one is much havier & getting a bit loose now whereas my own one is tight and feels more alive.

If I drive a standard car (Focus or otherwise) it feels rubbish by comparison.

I definitely can't afford a 580bhp+ Mercedes, so I'll have to stick to getting those thrills at work!

Nothing will annoy your Dealership more than you roaring into work in an RS.

First day of ownership...last day of employment! I am going to enjoy it. I've missed having my own car so much. It's really sad, but I've also missed cleaning my car with my mates. We all used to clean our cars together
