why so temperamental? I was fairly sure it was a motor problem as described above. Is it possible that the motor is on the way out but not fully kaput? Or is it likely to be something else entirely?

It might just be that the driver's side mirror had got stiff and has eased up since you've been folding it manually. 

Ultimately I still think it'll need replacing but I'd leave it while it's currently working.

I own a 2013 Zetec Fiesta and suddenly my automatic wing mirrors have started to stop working. My driver side has completely stopped working all together and is folded in but stuck and won’t budge even when I unlock my car or lock it but my passenger one is still working. Could anyone help me on how this could be fixed?

i`m new to the group,Can here for some help please

iv got a ford fiesta tdci 2009 all is good driving back last night parked up for night went out 

and hour or so later get summit out the car and notice the both mirrors are not Unfolding??.

The mirrors them self move (with the little turn switch on driver side top on door ) have checked the settting, how would you open them manual? 

i cont see any switch or plug to press to try Unfold them,

Im not good with cars , hope i explain that ok , thank you for any help.

Never mind iv done it, just pressed down on the swicht on the door for the mirrors lol thank god,

I'm new here my 2002 1.6 Ghia Fiesta the near side wing mirror doesn't work found fault in mirror so brought new mirror and new switch still not working any ideas or suggestions on where to look please

Will fold when press button but not when l lock my car 

This advice and guidance has helped my figure out what happened when the automatic mirrors folded in randomly and wouldn't open again. I must have knocked the manual fold knob. Anyway, used the manual page that's been suggested and low and behold it flipping worked. Thank you!!!!

 

Saved me a expensive trip to the garage and a call out. (lol I'm still figuring out what else my car does, technology isn't my strong point and you would think people my age would be tech savvy ) any future advice when I need help I'll come back to this website.
