Unbelievable

Lorry driver was a complete tool and deserves what he gets.

However so does Mr dashcam for hogging the middle lane and baiting the truck driver and then claiming he has shoulder and neck pain.

What a complete looser, used to be a special and gives a bad name to all people who become specials or police officers.

Sounds to me like he is a wannabe cop, and a liar for fraudulently claiming for whiplash.

I really hope both drivers get done for dangerous driving.

Video has been removed from youtube but is still available on the website run by the guy in question here http://www.policewitness.com/

holy moley!

That was insane...

English truck, driver who knows, working for Wincanton Distribution but an agency driver, no longer working for the company and police investigating him so will get actioned as they will know who the driver was, bearing in mind he has at the very least flushed his driving career down the drain.

However apparently the tool in the car Matthew Stockdale, runs the police witness website, sells dashcams and used to be a special. bear in mind I would love to know how on earth he could get whiplash from a couple of taps to the side of the car.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-34933345

Look at the picture showing damage to his car, only one picture and a very small dent for a 40ton vehicle hitting the side of it.

To be honest they were quite harsh moreso though it would have been where he was flicking his head back and forth to see what was coming... That's where most his pain would come from

Surely he must have done something to deserve that attack... He claims he was in the middle lane about to move over but for that sort of response he must have been a total tool off camera?!?!

if it was a gun incident old bill would be breaking there neck to get there " but its just a minor shunt" that happens all the time on roads

Even then a shunt to me is one collision not a repeated barrage of attacks lol

You have more than likely hit the nail on the head. The camera only shows the Truck drivers reactions mostly, what happened before that though. If you are driving too slow or hogging the middle lane and a driver behind flashes you, just move over and let them past regardless of what speed they are doing, why put yourself in danger by being "holy as thou" I am not moving over.

It is frustrating for truck drivers as car drivers dawdle on motorways and through average speed cameras and drive it whatever lane they feel like, hence why trucks often overtake in lane 3 like that because they can't past the tool who won't move over.

Anyway i could go on a crazy rant as I am a truck driver, but it is just not worth being a !Removed! to annoy someone, if they want to go faster/break the law whatever but don't be a tool and put yourself in danger.

I am sorry but ex special.(read as a wannabe Hitler we all know the types like that) running a website promoting people to send footage of other drivers to the police, selling dashcams and claiming whiplash from that equals a bell end I hope no one ever spends their hard earned with.

Then again next time he does it another truck may do the job properly for him next time and he won't be as lucky as he was this time.

As always there is no smoke without fire.

I must admit I could be seen as a dawdler.i tend to drive at 56mph, tonight for example I was in lane one and overtaken by four trucks, though half were foreign and where doing more than 56 they are supposed to be limited to. However as soon as I see their tail lights I flash them in.

Ok must of been scared to hell but Whiplash.

Well thats another one to put the £££££££ on our insurance.

Had an articulated lorry barge me up a pavement and along a wall a few years back, ran after him at traffic lights and pounded on his door. When he opened the door he accused me of hitting him which was weird seeing as he had his right indicator on yet tried to pull into the left hand lane of a 3 lane road! The barge board pushed my rear door completely in but it sprung back out with only a slight ripple in it, the noise though was incredible and it caused a 'terrible smell' in the cabin!

I don't see a problem with people who want to dawdle as such, but as you say you were in lane one and you flash them in, it's the people who slow down and speed up when a truck goes to overtake them that are the issue, its infuriating.

Remember though your 56mph is more like 50mph, trucks are calibrated so 56mph is 56mph the same as a police car calibrated to to exact.

I see it all the time so I know why truck drivers get so infuriated by car drivers, obviously there are some that do exceed 56mph. In fact a lot of trucks now are limited to 50 or 52mph.

Leaving this particular incident aside for a moment, consider the following. If a vehicle is driving at 70mph in the middle lane why should someone driving faster automatically expect them to pull into the nearside lane to let them pass. Why cant they use the offside lane to overtake ?. If there is no traffic in the nearside lane then you should use it of course.

By the same token why should someone joining a motorway or dual carriageway expect the vehicle in the nearside lane to move into the centre lane to let them on. They should be adjusting there speed to match the vehicles in the nearside lane, then just either slide in, either infront or behind vehicles.

I was told that it put more people in danger to keep overtaking slower moving traffic in the nearside lane, constantly pulling in and out.

It never ceases to amaze me just how inconsistently people drive, one moment they are batting along, and the next they are dawdling. So they are either right up your bum, which is very dangerous for everyone, or you are catching them up, when you have driving at a constant speed.

Just a thought.

I agree with the comment above to a certain extent, inconsistent vehicle speed, especially on a motorway, which was designed to allow traffic to move quickly, is frustrating at best & dangerous at worst i.m.o.

With the example above, when joining a motorway, it's considerate, safer & good practice to move into lane 2 or 3 in good time & where possible, when approaching a junction to allow vehicles to join the motorway unhindered.

Very few drivers show this anticipation in my experience.

When driving at the legal limit on a motorway in lanes 2 or 3 it's also simply sensible to move one lane to the left to allow a lawbreaker to pass on the right as this action diffuses potential road rage occurring i.m.o. as often they'll undertake to pass you which is considerably more dangerous.

Agreed, I tend to sit in Lane one at a slower pace, I aim for economy over everything else, but economy comes second to safety!

Dawdlers in cars which are easily capable of 70 mph, when conditions allow, are nearly as dangerous as drivers who exceed 70 mph on motorways.

Motorways were designed primarily to allow vehicles to proceed at high speed, within the limits imposed, & also to ease the traffic volumes on A & B roads

There should be a minimum speed limit of 65 mph for all cars on motorways, subject to road conditions etc i.m.o.

The speed limit on motorways should also be increased to 80 mph i.m.o. - with far more severe penalties for exceeding this limit.

In Jim's post above the two words that sum it up are : expect & automatically.

There should be no automatic expectation of anything another driver does or does not do - only reasoned anticipation.

My only expectation of any other driver in close vicinity to me is that they are unsafe at best & dangerous at worst & I drive accordingly.

The only problem with being expected to move over to let someone join is that there are often vehicle in the middle lane, just on the rear offside quarter of the vehicle in the nearside lane which the joiner cannot see, so when the driver does not/or cannot move over the joiner gets very cross. The joiner does not have the right to expect that people will move over for them, also a lot of them join at far too lower speed, and make no attempt to match speeds or find a gap [ which incedently makes any car following have a very difficult time joining ]

It is true that many drivers attempt to join a motorway at too slow a speed - they are inadequate drivers in need of further tuition.

It's good driving practice & considerate towards others to move into lane 2 or 3 at around one mile before a junction in anticipation of slower moving traffic joining the motorway & if more drivers did this lane 1 would be empty at the on slip therefore allowing easy & safer access for all traffic joining the motorway & safer progression of vehicles already on the motorway

To be honest if people pay attention and know what's there and you both adjust your speed along with others you can all integrate seamlessly with less than 5mph difference. Never had a problem.

Sent from my GT-I9195 using Tapatalk

I too, have never had a problem, but then I'm never in lane 1 approaching a motorway or dual carriageway junction as I anticipate idiots attempting to join at too slow a speed.

James sums it up above with one word : attention - & that too is something desperately lacking in many a driver's skill set
