Lighting Problem

Featured Replies

Hi, I am a new member and not too sharp on how this works, so here goes. I have done all my own mods to my 2008 focus hatch including, fitting rear interior lighting, upgraded the front grill to chrome, painted the lower bumpers and spoiler, fitted reverse camera and sensor kit, etc. I would like to thank everyone for their help along the way, this club is amazing.

Now to my problem. 2 days ago my dash, parking, number plate lights stopped working everything else is OK. I have a few fuses that have no power going to them (passenger compartment) checked and replaced but no good. Tried a second hand light switch, no good, I don't have any damaged wiring that I can see. I would be grateful of any help or suggestions. Thanks, IRONMAN (Hope this is the correct section to post this)

What fuses numbers have you checked, fuse 49 in passenger fusebox supplies the switch , then from switch through fuses 53,54,73 to left, right numberplate lights,

If you have multimeter or testlight remove fuse 49 and check for a live

On my fuse board the numbers are 117 = number plate lamps, 124 & 125 Parking lamps

The only problem is the first turn of the switch, parkers etc. All other lights are working fine.

Ah, different fuse box, there are more than one, so the sidelights dont come on on first postion, what happens on next position then headlights but still no sidelights?

Yes Ian thats correct. My fuses start at 100 to 143. secont turn is dims / heads, fogs front and rear ore fine also.

So do the number plates not work on any position? But the postion lights work on each corner on 2nd postion but not 1st?

Sorry, didnt read your post correctly, im just looking what fuse you need to check

no number plate lights on any position of the switch. If position lights are parking lights they dont work either Ian.

Fuse 103 you need to check

Moving post to correct section*

no number plate lights on any position of the switch. If position lights are parking lights they dont work either Ian.

Thanks for going to the trouble Ian its much appreciated.

Fuse 103 is permanent live feed to switch for your lights that dont work, you need to check that with multimeter or testlight
