We normally have a sacrificial bauble each year to distract the cats.

As soon as it's done and we turn our back though one of them is usually trying to climb it which more often than not ends up with it falling over and taking a load of things out on its way down.

We've resulted to tieing the tree to the curtain rail so Pumpkin can't knock it over.

A great Christmas and a healthy New Year to you all.

And thanks for making me feel welcome. I am rather old now and not able to give much help to people due to all this modern technology  , but I do enjoy a laugh, and some of the comments are very amusing. Best wishes.

So far, Molly hasn't knocked mine over yet - my baubles are her objects of desire

A very Happy Christmas and Merry New Year to you too Stuart :) :) :)

Ghana I love your thinking but I think he won't buy me any cows as he has just brought us a house that we're renting off him until his mortgage is paid off then it's ours. My current farm is having a new parlour fitted and to say I'm excited is a massive understatement lol. Besides I'd like to work on getting my own farm off my own back if you get me, already get the mick taking out of me because of my father in law buys us/does a lot for us lol

Baubles are one of many things cats are determined to possess. ;)

I believe he heralds from the Emerald Isle...my ancestors..1800's come from old Derry I finks..:):).... and by tales told in front of an old coal fire during my childhood in the 70's the saying "as mad as an Irishman"

was debatable......

Or you could just be responsible and not drink then use your own car...

To be honest, the kind of morons who drink and drive will do it anyway - it is only us responsible people who look at that advert seriously. Those it is actually aimed at would just ignore it.

I totally agree mate,

To be honest I have a few friends whom could do with seeing it and are high risk of taking chances but I fear sharing with them encase they take offence

Drink & drug drivers are right down there in the gutter with peado's i.m.o. - subhuman, myopic, amoebic oxygen thieves

Hear hear!!

Hear hear!!

I'd happily put them up against a wall & shoot them - slowly.

Problem is there are no real deterents & the punishments ( if they get caught & tried & found guilty ) are a bad, sad joke at best & laughable at worst :(

The number of them you see on Traffic cops and such programs, where a drunk driver is stopped and arrested.

It comes to light through the PNC checks, that he/she's already banned for the multiples of the same offence, or worse, and gets an additonal ban when they're sentenced. Which of course, they won't adhere to either, as the criminal types, never do.

We have had several people killed by drink drivers, down here. Who in theory were banned, but weren't obeying their ban
