Mountune question

Featured Replies

Right, yesterday I did the 'find your dealer' search on the Mountune site, and because I'm from north Wales my nearest Mountune approved dealership was Polar Ford in Warrington. I rang up the dealership and the lady on the reception desk had no idea what Mountune was/meant  .. she put me through to sales who then put me through to service dept (but there was no reply).

So basically my question is this.. as Mountune is based in Essex and too far for me to go down to, is it still possible to contact Mountune themselves to book my car into one of the approved dealers, and will these approved dealers have Mountune demo cars?

Hope this makes sense, and thanks in advance!

no the dealers will not have a mountune car and you need to speak to the service dept and the said garage should have a trained mountune technician who should no what you are on about..........

Okay thanks. Are you able to test drive a Mountune Fiesta at Mountune then??

I don't think I'd wana pay for the upgrade and later not think it's worth it lol.

best speak to mountune about that.... it's worth the money for the exhaust note that comes out the back.........

What's the loudness like? I do alot of bypass/motorway driving, how loud is it cruising compared to the standard exhaust? Thanks

At this present time I am so annoyed with Mountune that I think anyone considering the Mountune upgrade should keep their money in the bank and be happy that their car is still a safe car to drive in, because since having mine done its turned it into a death trap!

I'm definately thinking about the exterior pack though Michelle (yellow stripes and mirror caps), regardless of whether i get the upgrade, because ever since buying my car I wish I got it in a less boring colour lol. I guess it'd make my car stand out abit more

Do you think it'd suit my car?

You need an o2 cheater, think you can get them off Ebay..

affects your warranty though, the reason you have no trouble is because you have not had no ECU changes is that correct? had mine done in April when there was nothing else on the market. Been back to Mountune today, my replacement wheels have not arrived and the ETIS ford file is incorrect so cannot be loaded onto my car!

perhaps you should of had it done at a ford dealer seems they are the one's holding onto the ecu upgrade

That is so incorrect, no ford dealer has the new file in their hands at present.

so why apart from the sensor failing my car is fine ...

so why apart from the sensor failing my car is fine ...

Because your car hasnt been Mountune chipped, the file that Fords are releasing isnt just a standard Ford Fiesta ECU upgrade, its one that is for the Mountune 140BHP chip. I paid £1,299 for the pleasure of power loss, believe me if there was a solution available right here right now I would have it!

Im presuming Mountune themselves have told you your problem is the sensor failing? If this was the problem why would they of not told me and Michelle this? Like i said in the other post all i can think of is that your local ford dealer are just trying to fix the problem themselves instead of contacting Mountune.

i hope my car has been chipped i paid enough for it.i'ver that or they have lied to me and in that case owe me some money after all it says on the stuff that mountune provided ford with that it has been done and the print out from the dealer..

ah forgive me, I didnt realise youd had the upgrade done. Its all getting confusing really, your problem is obviously different to mine and Robs. Hopefully I will have a result in the next few days.

i want the mountune upgrade, after getting fed up with kids wanting to race me, and finding the fiesta is not quick enough, unless you are canny with how you slip in and out of traffic

but till mountune sort all these issues out that people are having then im not going to give them any cash

I did send them an email a few weeks back asking if the power loss issue had been resolved but have heard nothing back

OMG - you still having problems then Michelle - I was haoping, that having been away for a couple of weeks and with things apparently moving forward, that you would have had it all sorted by now!

The problem seems to me to be if u get it done at mountune itself and not a ford dealer that specialise in fiting mountune as i belive that ford have the correct info for the ecu from what i can gather.as i have hadno probs with mind except the lambda sensor failing which is a fordpart any how....idon't no where u r in essex but my local dealer fitted mine and have done a few focuses as well and have had no problems so give them a ring and speak to the technical dept about getting it done.
