If the engine check light comes on can anything be done to convince it alls well at the EGR ?you have all convinced me that this is the right thing to do but I don't fancy making a modification that leaves management light on permanently

the 1.6tdci doesn't have a pressure sensor in the egr pipelines so it won't throw up an error on this engine,

In cases where it does trigger an error such as on the 1.8TDCI it stops after a week or two.

That's great Lenny

I will definitely be blanking the EGR valve and buying induction kit.

I went into local dealer today to see if they would configure new Bluetooth module. They said they would.

Is the module I need fitted to all fiestas after a certain year That have Bluetooth and speech recognition ? There are lots on eBay but none with the correct part number so I was thinking about trying breakers but this would be easier if I knew I could target fiestas after a certain year.

I ordered timing kit while in so will also get this done as soon as poss.

Cheers

Vin

You'll be looking for 2010 or 2011 fiestas with the USB port. If you find one you might as well take the Bluetooth module, the wire attached to it, USB port attached to the wire and fascia.

I'll dig out my notes for the dealer later

Worth keeping in mind though - some 2011 fiestas are ford sync instead of BT/VC. Sync module won't work - so check part number against the list in the fordpartsuk link earlier in the thread

Hi Jack

Earlier in the thread the part number for the Bluetooth module I needed is AV8M5T-19C112-AV . I have looked on eBay and can find loads but none ending with the AV . Is this the only model number that will work ? I know I can buy from main dealer but they quoted over 200 quid and that's not including the USB port. Just wondered if another part number would work .

The notes for dealer would be much appreciated.

Real easy to fit, just unclip a cable and unscrew bolt, swap over. Difficult part is getting dealer to change the car config.

Part numbers + picture below. Though that is new, second hand part can be gotten cheaper on eBay. https://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_fiesta_mobile_phone_bluetooth_voice_control_interface_module___f_1806653_c_460.htm

Official ford part, not aftermarkrt

Hi Jack

I have found one on eBay with the USB but the last to letters are AS instead of AV what is the difference? Do I definitely need AV in order to stream music?

Thanks

Vin

Av is a really recent number. Any of the older numbers listed on that page will work. Best getting one from a fiesta though, if the seller knows.

Original Numbers:

8M5T-19C112-AN

8M5T-19C112-AP

8M5T-19C112-AR

8M5T-19C112-AS

8M5T-19C112-AT

8M5T-19C112-AU

What would be the difference in these modules and the one currently fitted in my van?

Vin

Those modules support bluetooth A2DP (music) and usb connection while your current one doesn't.

I think I understand it now .

I will check with the one on eBay and see is it from m a fiesta .

Have you posted the notes for the dealer regarding configuring the module and USB anywhere?

Thanks again for your help Vin

I'm currently working on a rig so haven't got my laptop - I'll link the instructions here once back

Thanks for taking the time to help Jack. Will you make it home for Xmas/Hogmanay?

The seller says its out of a mondeo but insists it will work in the fiesta . The USB lead has a bit of trim around it that makes me a bit sceptical that this is the case.

Is there generally problems fitting one from a different vehicle?

Cheers Vin

Travelling back today luckily

When I was reading up on the retrofit I saw a few people say it is best to get one from a fiesta. I'm not aware of what might happen if you got a different one, though.

I know for a fact from first hand experience that nothing from a mondeo is compatible with a focus nothing mate,

It all looks identical and it will plug in and power up but it is the software which is very different and doesn't communicate.

I have been looking on eBay for one from a fiesta with the correct part number but to no avail at the moment. Will keep trying.

If anyone sees one somewhere please let me know!

I took a look at mine just to ensure I am looking for the correct upgradepost-29546-0-29403000-1451343712_thumb.j

I'm assuming I'm on the right track now I've seen my one.

In my van I have rear speaker covers , I'm assuming I have no speakers in there and I'm wondering if I can put something in there and if anyone knows what size speakers fit and is wiring already in place.

I took the floor out of the back to give it a good clean and could see some wires heading in that direction.

Vin

I must thank you Jack- even though I'd explained to the guys at my local dealership what I wanted done via IDS, I gave them your guide to work from, and I'm now up and running with BT Audio!

Thanks for this Jack . Did the module you bought come with the USB lead or did you buy it separately? Also did you fit the USB lead prior to giving the vehicle to Ford?

Cheers

Hi Jack

I got a module of eBay it's an AS so hopefully it should be fine. It didn't have the USB with it though . Do you know part numbers I will need to fit the USB lead and trim and any other parts I will need from Ford before booking in with them ?

Cheers Vin

I haven't had a chance to fit USB yet - though I'll be doing it early in the new year. I haven't bought the parts for USB yet; there's a list of them somewhere in one of the BT upgrade + USB upgrade retrofit threads here on FOC.

I'm trying to get the part numbers for the Bluetooth module upgrade.

I have the module 8M5T-19C112-AS

I know the trim plate with USB number 1572824

I don't know the rest .

I have a number from the dealer for leads 1633513 but I can't confirm this anywhere on the forum

Any help much appreciated

Vin

My van is a 2010 fiesta Sportvan built 30/9/2010 with bluetooth module 8M5T 19G488-AR

It has the Bluetooth stalk factory fitted

I want to upgrade to the Bluetooth with USB and music

I have bought from eBay module 8M5T-19C112-AS apparently from a fiesta (80.00)

I have bought from ford trim cover finis 1572824 (4.07)

Finis 1715190 Control ( this looks like the bit that goes inside the trim and houses the USB port) (5.49)

Wire assembly finis 1755525 I do think that this lead is correct as it has the USB connector on it along with loads of other connectors. (48.84)

The ford parts man also thinks I need this lead so I also purchased it but I am not so sure I do and welcome any advice on this as I don't want to spend ages trying to find somewhere to fit it! Wire assembly Finis 1715190 (33.08)

I think I now have all the parts I need so any help in how to fit them all would be great.

I'm aware I then need to go to Ford for IDS.

cheers Vin
