Folkwizard
Hi folks. Just bought a 2010 Focus 1.6 Titanium to replace my previous jamjar. Colour is Sea Grey, she's had 2 previous keepers and she's got 75000 under her wheels. Fitted with the Sports Pack, which firms things up a bit. Petrol engine as we don't do the mileage to warrant diesel. I'll have a good look round her tomorrow to see exactly what I've got. First Ford, we've had French for years. If there any points I should look out for I'd appreciate it. Thanks all.

GMX
Hello and Welcome Henry :) Mk2/2.5 Common problems http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/48338-ford-focus-mk2-common-problems-thread/
Folkwizard
Only got a couple of niggles so far. 10 Plate Titanium, 75000 miles. Dash cubby latch has failed, thinking of gluing a rare earth magnet to lid and a small piece of steel to floor of it. The TPMS also puzzles me. Came up to check tyre pressures, which I did, but they were all normal. Can it be disabled or removed? Once I get the hand book I'll have a better idea of what to do, I hope. Our pet mechanic will have the car soon for the timing belt to be changed. Peace of mind. On the whole, happy with the car. It's fitted with the Sports Pack and, whilst the ride is firm it's not uncomfortable. Firmer than the Peugeot we had previous sure, but it does feel more planted on the road. Folkwizard
I must admit I don't know exactly what model I've got. She's 2010, Titanium trim, with full height clear tail lights. Is it Mk2, 2.5 or what? I'll have another look on the bay though. It seems most of them are grey, but a coat of paint can sort that out. Ta. SeanW
Definitely a Mk2.5 However, the differences between the Mk2 and Mk2.5 are mostly cosmetic. The parcel shelf from either model will fit :)
Folkwizard
Many thanks for that.
Folkwizard
Dash cubby latch has failed . I did think of removing the spring, but then it would be prone to rattling I think. I superglued a 10 mm dia. rare earth magnet to the lid and a small self tapping screw to the floor but that didn't work. The spring is stronger than I thought. The magnet I tried had a rating of 35 so I removed it and fitted a magnet with a rating of 52. That did the trick. Job done. Now I have the handbook I can also figure other out stuff.
