Sound only coming through one speaker

Hey guys, just hooked my iPod up using the auxillary input (not USB version) but only getting sound through the drivers side speaker.

I'm using a standard cable bought from maplins, any idea why thisbis happening? :(

    Should probably mention this is the 2009 model fiesta.

    First thing i would do is try another cable, a wire may be broken in the cable.

    im using the y cabe but i have noticed if you dont have it plugged in all the way you only get half sound.

    I had this trouble with my new headunit in my mk5, tried 2 new cables and still nothing. I just use a USB stick now, it's actually better cause the unit has menus on it
