Stutter/No power 1.6 Focus

Featured Replies

Hi All, first post and i hope it is in the right place (move it if not).

My 1.6 2010 Focus Zetec S has an weird issue. If i go into third around 25 - 30mph and start to accellerate the car stutters a bit and struggles to apply any power i does this after changing to 2nd between 15-12.

Also i was on the motorway yesterday and at a point when driving in fifth it did the same sort of stutter and the engine management light started flashing, i slowed right down to it was fine all the way home after that

Any ideas?

Thanks

If its petrol engine, could be the 'coil pack' on its way out! If the EML is on and the OBD reads a missfire I'd change that first.
