Get a remap

Just a remap Ryan, will that be enough ?

Get it breathing better with a free flow exhaust and air filter, then get it remapped.

Just had a custom twin exit Stainless Exhaust fitted to my Mondeo 2.2 TDCi, low and mid range response is much improved.

Remap next, should see circa 190-200 BHP with a bit of luck!

 

Ade that's an awesome pipe, where did you get that from

there are several things you need if you want to get more out of your car...

1) Bigger Bang - More fuel, tweaked timing, maximum compression.

2) Maximum breathing - both in motor and out (this includes turbo's, superchargers, EGR blanking)

3) Fuel - Better and cleaner fuel, by clearing contaminents from the fuel and engine system, something such as Terraclean will help with this.

You then need the remap to tie all of this together, either that or a tuning box will help you get a bit more. It really depends on what your ambitions are. If you are looking to get a 1000bhp car out of a 1.8 TDCi, your going to need to shed a load of the weight, bore out the cylinders, uprate the pistons, crankshaft and breathing of the car. Otherwise, if your trying to boost it from a 1.8 to the output of a 2.0 then a remap / tuning box would probably achieve this on its own. If you want more, then you need to focus on the three above as well.
