misfire

Featured Replies

hi everyone looking for a bit of advice, I ve been having a problem with my car, the engine management light is on and code comes up as a misfire, I recently had  the same problem and I had new leads but in and the mechanic found water in the chambers were the leads are inserted in does anyone have any ideas what it could be ? spark plugs have also been changed

Was the coil changed? Normally when you get the water in the ports it takes plugs, leads and the coil out.

Yep, that's the common problem. There are 'revised' jets but people sometimes just remove the jets, put a bit silicon sealant on and reseat them adding more sealant to the underside of the bonnet.

  • do you know where I can buy these revised jets from

you could always buy them from Ford, but to be honest they are ludicrously expensive. You can buy them in from China much cheaper. Ford sell heated jets for about £40 for a pair, whereas I bought a pair from China for £14!
