Air Conditioner Issue

Featured Replies

Hello, I bought myself a brand spanking new fiesta on thursday and got it monday :D

I've read the manual all the way through and discovered stuff I would never have known without reading, I have one issue in particular. When I first turn on the ignition the air conditioner comes on automatically even tho it was switched off when I switched off the ignition before - I thought this would be because I have the heating set too low so I tried it a few hours later with heating on half-way and it still came on.

What can I do to stop this, its getting winter and I don't want to forget to turn it off lol.

Thanks in advance

It comes on automatically if you have the airflow direction set to "windscreen only", so that's probably where you have it. It turns off normally with a touch of the button and I think even clicking the direction knob one stop towards the next setting also prevents this happening.

Oh - and welcome! Which engine and colour did you go for? Presumably this was one the dealer already had in stock (have you seen the waiting times around here?!).

thanks! why does it do it is it some kind of manufacturer fault

It is a feature. A/C helps clean the windscreen quicker, so if you have it set to clean windscreen only, the A/C will automatically come on to speed up the process. I think it meant to be helpful, but really it is just mildly irritating
