I love the car!

Still find it amazing how Ford have got so much power from a 1 litre engine!

Technology certainly has moved on a lot in the past 10-15 years!  How many BHP does the 1.0 produce?

There are 4 variants of the 1.0

3 ecoboost's and one naturally aspirated petrol engine.

1.0 80ps/bhp. Practically the same thing

1.0 99-100bhp

1.0 123-125bhp

1.0 138-140bhp

Ive mentioned the - range because I'm not sure what they are, they are there or there abouts...

Quick little things mate!

Good Lord, you're not joking.  Our old Fiesta had the 1.25 4 cylinder Zetec-S engine which produced 75BHP (back in 1997 that is, when we had it that had probably dropped to around 60).

Embarrassingly all but the first one of those engines would probably out-run my 405's 1.9 Turbo Diesel (92BHP).  The 2.7 V6 in the Hyundai gets 170BHP which is only 30 more than the highest quoted, and it has double the cylinders and more than double the CC!

I'm not sure I like these new engines

Haha!

My mum has had a few 1.25 Fiesta's...

95,97,2005.

They are brilliant mate. You would fall in love!

Re-map them or 'tune' them.. The 1.0 can be pushed to 165-180.

Oh great, so the gas-guzzling V6 literally could be out-run by a 3 cylinder Fiesta...

Give it a few years for the used prices to go down, and I may buy myself one of those Fiestas as a daily driver, I'll bet the fuel economy is good too.

I get around 39mpg around town, with some 'spirited' right foot action here and there :whistling1:

Well that doesn't make me feel so bad then, given that the turbo diesel gets over 50!

It can be pushed to 207bhp+ if you're willing to start replacing the pistons & rods along with a big lump of cash! Haha

i think if you wanted 207hp it would be better and cheaper to trade the 3 pot in for an st.
