VelcroToastie
There are lots of companies claiming that their remaps will take my 1.6 ecoboost from 150hp to around 180hp with no additional modifications. How reliable or safe are these maps? I'd like some more power but not at the risk of killing the engine.
jeebowhite
If you go somewhere reputable they are perfectly safe, however if you go to bobs bgr and remarp centre around the corner, it's more likely they would cause problems with a bad map. Most the time the worst damage is either a failure of flash and a stuffed ecu, but other than that it's possible they have sensor values wrong. Any remapper with experience and a much greater customer satisfaction would be more likely to have a clue what they are doing. iantt
180 is just a remap to a standard ford 180 version so should be pretty safe as long you use a reputable company as james points out
VelcroToastie
Puma Speed isn't to far away. They seem to have a good reputation unless anyone here knows of a better place in the NorthWest
