05 mondeo 2.0 petrol cutting out when cold

Hi all,

 

hopefully someone can help me I've been having trouble with the good old mondeo. Car drives fine no warning lights etc... But every time we start the car from cold it's fires up but then cuts out if I give a little throttle when I come down to idle ( just over 1k from cold ) it then cuts out again. Now if I give it some throttle and manually hold it about 1.5k for a few seconds it will be fine all day. I've been told it could be the filter clogged but I've changed it and it's just the same. Any ideas guys .........
