Remapping

Hi I'm new to all this and I was wondering if I could have some help from people with more experience than me. I am 17 and drive a ford fiesta mk7 zetec s diesel 2010. I'm looking for a bit more power so I was considering a remap. I know that there is a potential bhp increase to around 120 . However I have heard that the car will then produce large amounts of diesel smoke due to the remap? I was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback on that statement and tell me what they think of their car once it has been done and if so any good companies?

Not being mean Fella but at 17 I would assume you are within your 2 year license probationary period and paying stupidly high insurance?

If you remap your car then your insurance company will nigh on bankrupt you.

Personally I would wait the 2 years until I was a more experienced driver and then revisit the remap idea then.

Probably not what you really want to read but it is sensible.

If you were to think of not informing your insurance company and god forbid something happened then they would hammer you.
