Mondeo 1.8tdci judder

Featured Replies

Hello.

I purchased a 2008 mondeo 1.8tdci last weekend from an independent deal and I've discovered a fault that wasn't apparent on the test drive. Having collected it i drove it home from Nottingham to peterborough and after about an hour the engine jolted or juddered,  however you want to describe it. It was only momentary but did it a few times,  mostly in 3rd to 5th gears either under acceleration  (not hard) or maintaining speed. It only seems to happen after the engine has warmed up.

I notified the dealer immediately who has said I can get it looked at locally and then revert back to him. I intend to do that this week, but wondered if anyone had any thoughts. There's no warning light and otherwise the car is great. I'm just concerned having spent a decent amount on a car, it might be about to develop a major fault.

Thanks

update....car died on me yesterday. Went into limp mode with the engine warning light displayed on the dash. Recovered to dealer to fix suspected turbo or sensor fault.
