DIY Servicing?

Featured Replies

My partner has a 15 plate Fiesta 1.2 on PCP from Ford.

My main question is regarding the servicing of the vehicle during the term.

Are you allowed/able to perform your own servicing?

Thanks,

As far as I'm aware you can, but just make a note of what you've performed in your service handbook, I leave a reference number in my service handbook relating to the service carried out in my own book which is bigger and includes images and receipts of all parts purchased.

I did this when I had a Fiesta on PCP. Didn't raise any questions.

Thanks for your reply mate, I thought that would be the case, as long the vehicle gets what it requires on time.

Do you think genuine parts are a must or could equivalent OEM from motor factors be used also?

No I never use official Ford parts but get equivalent OEM parts.

A ford oil filter will only cost you approx a fiver so you won't save much by buying non genuine!
