hi can anyone tell me whether or not  i need to disconnect the battery when changing the ignition coil?

    It wouldn't hurt to disconnect the battery, but IMO it's not necessary. If the car engine is off, there shouldn't be any power being applied to the coil pack. Besides, once you unplug it, it's not going to be connected to any power...

    Thanks man,that's what i thought but i'm a total noob at car maintenance , sick of going to the garage for simple jobs though
