2003 fiesta tdci Air con not working.

Featured Replies

I have just purchased a 2003 fiesta tdci. Unfortunately the A/c is not working. I took the car to halfords and they did a pressure check and the system seemed to hold. He only used a little gas. He told me that the compresser was not engaging and that  I should at it. When I got home I disconnected the low pressure sensor and the high pressure sensor and the compressor plugs. The high pressure sender plug had been replaced at some point as the wire were twisted together. I can't seem to find a wiring diagram to prove the correct wiring layout. They are now soldered. By shorting out one side of the high pressure sensor I could get power to the compressor as it clicked and the fan started. When I connected the sensors back up there is no power to the compressor When the A/c is selected. The engine doesn't load either.

anyone got any ideas?

cheers

Jim
