Hi guys, I'm new here so please forgive me if this has been asked already, I have recently bought a 1.4 diesel Fiesta. When I turn the ignition off I get this cuckoo cuckoo sound. It does it 3 or 4 times and then stops. It does it every time , anyone have any help or ideas on what it could be?

    My car, a Focus, tests the EGR valve when the ignition is turned off. It make some interesting clicks & whirs, but no bird sounds! Takes about 10-15 sec.

    Open the bonnet, get someone to cycle the ignition while you have a good listen. You may be able to track it to some part, then maybe a fiesta expert can be more help.

    Oh, does the engine need to be started? Mine tests the valve even if the ignition is cycled with no start.

    PS: Make double sure car is out of gear, possibly wheels chocked if you are standing in front while someone plays with the ignition!

    Hi OP, did you work out what the issue was? Mine has recently started doing this too
