2.0 TDCI focus EGR blank

Featured Replies

Afternoon,

Thinking of blanking my egr on my 58 plate 2.0 tdci. Anyone done it and know if it throws up any EML'S?

Had a search but can't seem to find anything relating to the 2.0.

Cheers

Same ere pal, I've got the 2007 2.0 tdci and want to do the same but not sure if it needs mapping out as well. Don't think it throws any error lights up just not sure if it needs a map too.

would like to have my DPF gutted and mapped out too but I've heard they actually test for it now instead of just doing a visual check.

I think it will need deleting from software.

Ill be having the DPF gutted and software delete.

May aswell have it done all at same time.

Before you gut the DPF just double check that the garages don't test for it at MOT time as I'm sure I read somewhere that are starting to.

If your car fails MOT because they can't detect the DPF there could be a massive bill to fix it. But if I'm wrong then please inform me as I want mine doing too haha.

depending on where you get it done we could book both cars in together, may get a better deal 👍🏻

Hi is this a focus?

i have a 1.8 tdci with egr blank plate don't need mapping just put it straight on jobs done.

as for dpf delete garages check on mot now and will fail I was gonna do it but didn't bother.

As far as im aware they just check the dpf is 'there'. Ive just text father inlaw to ask as he's a tester.

Im having it done wednesday in doncaster.

Also from what I can tell on the euro 5 cars the EGR needs removing from software or it will throw odd EML light up.

Ill update wednesday night.

Visual check for DPF and/or cat if one was fitted originally.  There is currently no other test than visual so as long as its not obvious and doesn't blow coal everywhere you'll be fine.

visual only. fairly obvious if its been removed, only way to get round out is to remove the insides of the dpf.

"on  spark ignition engine vehicles that qualify for a full catalyst emissions test and all compression ignition vehicles check the presence of catalytic converter(s) and particulate filter(s)"

Good job diesels don't class as "spark ignition"
