Any scanner simply advertised as "obd2" will only have very limited capabilities. It will be able to read and clear the generic DTCs, that are common across most makes of car. And these are mostly the engine related ones, generated by the pcm.

To customise the car, and to diagnose problems in other modules (Body, Airbags, ABS, steering, etc, etc,) you will need Ford specific software such as ELMCOnfig or Forscan. You will find lots of info on this site.

Wireless ELM327s are available, though some compatibility problems have been reported. Try the Forscan site for starters.

I guess you have looked at ELMconfig too?

Trouble is, if you are wanting to change your Mk1 Focus, I doubt if it has the features built in to the software. These packages can enable & adjust features already built in to the car, but downloading new features (re-writing the in-car software) would be very difficult.

Most of the features I have seen relate to Mk2A & Mk3 Foci. But keep searching, you never know what will turn up.

Thank you thats some big help :)

Just bought a CARISTA OBD2 which is Great new EOBD2 reader and scanner . Bought from Amazon which was cheaper than EBay at the moment.

Download CARISTA App Free onto your iPhone . Or you can use other apps like the TORQUE App.

Just sorted an EML on my dash of my Volvo S40 Mk2 in 2 minutes identified Temperature sensor ( This model Volvo is basically based on a MONDEO / Focus ) and then checked my Fiesta Mk7 Diesel and showing ok .

The upgrade for changing other things like exterior lighting timings is not available on my models yet with CARISTA software.
