a few minor problems, mondeo mk3

Featured Replies

evening all, recently bought a mk3 mondeo. 1.8 petrol. Admittedly it was cheap and intended as a run around for work etc, but a few niggles have appeared. Air con doesn't seem to work, a symbol shows on the dash upon start up, the engine management light came on (running some redex through it at the moment) but has turned itself off. No fault codes stored on my little home scanner. Mpg about 33mpg, I expected more but need to service the car! Also it seems to hang onto the revs between gear changes, it this normal for the car or and indication of a problem?

long winded I know, but get fussy over the mechanics of my cars.

mines an 05 1.8 petrol same problem with sticking revs, turned out to be pcv pipe which sits at the back of the inlet manifold ,it was split letting air in and upsetting the idle.£43 from ford.done now drives like a new car.hope this helps.
