As of the 1st Dec another price increase as follows

Ford say due to the weakness of the pound.

Many manufactures will be doing the same

KA - £250

Fiesta - £400

Fusion - £400

Focus (Excluding RS and CC) - £500

C-Max - £500

Focus CC - £600

Kuga - £600

Mondeo - £600

S-Max - £600

Galaxy - £600

luckily for me, i ordered mine before the previous increase

i think its gone up by a grand since i ordered mine

Has anybody kept track of all the (5 or 6 at least?) price increases since the beginning of the year? In other words what has been the total increase for, say a 1.25 Zetec 5-door.

It would be interesting to know approximately what they now total up to. I knew in September when I ordered mine that the Fiesta had already suffered higher increases percentage-wise than any other popular car, by now things must be even worse.

List Price of 1.25 Zetec 5 Door in Feb £11795

List Price of 1.25 Zetec 5 Door in May £12595

List Price of 1.25 Zetec 5 Door as of Dec 1st £13595

List Price of same car with Squeeze in Feb £12190

List Price of same car with Squeeze in Dec 1st £14240

In all fairness this is getting a bit ludicrous now. When I bought my mk6 1.25 zetec in 2007 the list price was just over £10,000 - and I didn't pay anywhere near that much for it anyway. The mk7 is a much better car no doubt but a third more expensive come on! Saying that though it doesn't matter really does it, because idiots (like me) keep buying them anyway!

Remember as well, yes the prices keep going up but Ford ARE also pumping discounts at the Fiesta to help the blow. When they came out they had £500 customer saving free bluetooth then normal retail terms. Now they got £500 Customers saving Free Bluetooth USB and £450 Deposit Allowance and extra £250 if registered in Nov (£100 if registered in Dec) ontop of the retail terms too.

On top of that, cars ordered before the Jan 1st VAT increase won't be subject to it, even if they pick up their cars next year.

I spoke to my dealer today and he confirmed any cars ordered before January would only pay the 15% VAT, not the 17.5%

i love my mk7 zetec s and i got a very good price for it..

but at the end of the day all these price increases are silly..

all that money on a fiesta is ridiculous, there cheaply made and cant cost a lot to be made i dont see why they are so expensive

I would ask him about that. From what we have been told thats not right.

If ordered before 1st Jan and the car is build (Gate released) that means the car can be registered and invoiced in Dec meaning the company wont pay the VAT.

If the car is ordered before Jan but not built (Gate released) until Jan then the company will pay the VAT Increase there for have to charge the customer the VAT increase. There is no way around this. If someone comes in at the moment and they ordering an RS Focus for example we are doing a good deal then working the VAT increase from there to tell them how much more it will be. So we still doing the same deal just with the 17.5% VAT. (I say RS Because we can get hold of most cars for December apart from like KA and RS Focus.)

Some dealers may say they will do the same price but when you get your invoice it will be 17.5% if registered in Jan its just they might have discounted it further so your blance to change is the same. Unless you have bleed them dry for every penny then thats not do able lol :)

Well, I did go and ask about it. I was told that the VAT increase would not affect the agreement I had. I don't know if that means the VAT would still be at 15% or if they were going to take the extra 2.5% hit themselves.

But that might change if my car is not built in December like is currently planned. It also might have been complete rubbish to stop me from thinking about cancelling the order, which I hinted at.

Ah right if your car is planned to be built in December they will ask you near the time to register it at end of december so not to have the VAT increase and they will tax it for 12 months + 1 week so you miss no road tax. Thats what they will prob do.
